Lean Greens Review + Mocha Green Smoothie
Mocha & a green smoothie at the same time?? I am all about it! This smoothie recipe combines that delicious coffee taste with iron rich spinach and nutrient dense lean greens powder. It packs a protein punch, and also delivers more than your daily recommended values of Vitamin A and Calcium. Who says vegans need supplements to get nutrients in?? (Well except B12 but come on, lets be realistic here;)).
Lean Greens is a delicious greens powder that contains 5 Grasses, 3 Superfood Vegetables, 2 Berries, 6 Digestive Enzymes & 2 Metabolic Ingredients. Lean greens has been reported to reduce bloat and improve gut and bowel health. People that have consumed this have also reported a decrease in cravings for sugary or caffeinated foods. Since i personally already eat a very clean diet and have incredible digestion (shoutout to my plant based vegan diet), I did not experience very drastic improvements while taking this powder. However, I did notice a subtle increase in energy levels and just feeling great. I think that this powder would make more of a difference in someone who does not a a plant-based diet or struggles to get enough vegetables in each day. That is not something that I struggle with (clearly, if you have seen my instagram or my grocery posts).
I enjoyed the greens powder either in my smoothies, or alongside my oats mixed in water. I recommend consuming the Lean Greens with breakfast for lasting energy.
Overall, I think this is a great supplement for anyone to add to their diet. It is vegan of course, does not have any junky fillers, tastes great, and gives a great nutrient boost. If you suffer from IBS, bloating, constipation, or upset stomach, then I would highly recommend trying this powder out.
AND… if you really want a super boost, combine this lean greens powder into a green smoothie like I did. This smoothie recipe really is a superfood that will fuel your day. If you struggle with staying full until lunch, or just feel lethargic, then this is the smoothie for you. I love adding spinach to my smoothies because you can add a ton without even tasting it (especially if your smoothie has frozen super duper ripe bananas – seriously do not freeze them until they are super spotty!). I also used my favorite brand and flavor of protein powder in this recipe. Of course, that would be Vega Mocha Sport Recovery protein. If you are looking to decrease your caffeine intake, but still like that coffee taste, then you should definitely check out Vega’s mocha flavored proteins.
Here’s what you will need:
2 Cup (240ml), Unsweetened Cashew Milk
4 cup, Spinach – Raw
2 large/3 small frozen ripe Bananas
1 scoop Vega mocha performance protein
1 serving of lean greens powder
optional: extra ice to make it thicker (I usually do this)
